A hotly anticipated rubber match will go down at AFL 19 as Brazil’s Thiago Martins (18-10) faces Spain’s Zebenzui Ruiz (7-2) and to make things even more interesting the vacant bantamweight title will be on the line.
Martins scored a submission win over Ruiz in early 2016 then later that year Ruiz scored a decision win over Martins in the rematch. At one a piece they will finally settle the score at AFL 19 on March 30 in Gran Canaria, Spain.
As a grappling based fighter competing professionally since 2005, Martins has secured most of his 18 wins via submission but also has a first round KO win over top Spanish fighter Marc Gomez Sariol.
Ruiz turned professional in 2014 and is a native of Gran Canaria. The 25-year-old has proven himself as a very well rounded fighter with wins coming via TKO, submission, and decision. His last loss came against Martins and is on a four fight win streak since then.
